self-portrait

This is my Self-Portrait we had to do in class. It doesn't really look like me, but I like it. We had to color it or add detail to it with pencil. I chose to add more detail. i added my hair model, and some shadow to the left side for example.

Child's painting

In this picture you see a tree. It was based of a poem the childs grandfather used to say:
I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree.   A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast;   A tree that looks at God all day,And lifts her leafy arms to pray;   A tree that may in summer wear A nest of robins in her hair;   Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain.   Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree.

Graphic design

this assignment was to draw a abstract logo, who would tell something about yourself. well, I play the (bass)guitar, and I love music, so I decided to make a logo that had to do with music. i first made a few sketches, and finally a bigger sketch as you can see on the right. It worked out really well, but i had to change the cords of the headphone. the logo is basically a headphone and a circle in the middle with a music note.
After i made the sketch, i made it of paper, as was the assignment. and this also worked out very well

I am very happy with the result, and i really like it.

van gogh painting

This assignment was about van Gogh. We had to remake a painting of van Gogh. I chose for "starry night over the rhone". I really liked the painting, and i think the remake also wasn't that bad, but i got a big of a time shortage, so i couldn't finish it, sadly enough.

stained glass window

this assignment was about stained glass windows, like you see in churches. I made this one, and it's not really fantastic, and not really a stained glass window, but i tried.

Keith haring skateboard design

this assignment is a sequel to the bikes, this time we had to make a keith haring styled skateboard. i'm really pleased with the final result, and I hope you do so too.

Keith haring bikes

for this assignment we had to make bikes in keith haring style, and this is the result. i made one with a keith haring frame, and one with two keith haring wheels.

After trip to canterbury

-        Was the visit what you expected? Was is better or worse, and why?

Well, the hostel was really not 5 stars, maybe 1 star or worse. Also the church and the museum where pretty boring, but I think old buildings and museums are boring in general so they didn’t differ on that.

-        What part of the cathedral did you like (or not), explain why.

The crypt was boring because you had to be quit, and it wasn’t really interesting. Some of the stained glasses were nice though.

-        Place the pictures with the text, write down what is to be seen in the pictures.

-        Is there a story that you have heard (or find one on the internet) about the cathedral that you like in particular? Why is this story special or impressive?

The Thomas Becket was the only story I heard particularly, and it’s a bit of a strange story. It also special because he was the friend of the king.
